Ann Curry
Ann Curry was born in America and is an American photographer and journalist. Since more than 45 years, she has concentrated her efforts on the reporting of human suffering, primarily when natural catastrophes or war are occurring. Curry was a reporter for the wars in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry is a journalist anchorperson on television and reporter who was born in 1956. Her most famous role was in Today the program, which is a National Broadcasting Co. morning news program that broadcasts daily. Curry was renowned for her work on reporting the humanitarian crisis in war-ravaged countries and on natural catastrophes. Curry was born in Japan and raised by an Japanese mom. Her father served as an U.S. Navy sailor. Curry's parents bonded in Japan which is where her father had been stationed after World War II. They were frequently in and out of the country due to the service of her dad in the military. They eventually moved to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. Following her graduation from the University of Oregon, Curry obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1978. As a child, she was exposed to diverse kinds of cultures. Curry did not have the opportunity to go to a single school in Alameda, San Diego Oregon or Virginia during the two-year period due to her family relocated frequently. Finally, she graduated Ashland High School. She started a new career path that led to a lucrative job by becoming an intern at broadcasting station KTVL Channel 10 Medford. It was her first time as a female news correspondent at this station at the age of 22. Later, she became anchor and reporter at KGW located in Portland Oregon. Four years later, she relocated in Los Angeles and became a reporter at KCBS TV. She was awarded two Emmy Awards during the six years she spent with this station.
